The required landing distance for aircraft having less than 6,000 pounds payload or 20 seats conducting LAHSO will be the POH distance over a 50-foot obstacle plus 1,000 feet. For example, a C-172's landing distance over a 50-foot obstacle is 1,500 feet. The distance from the threshold to the hold line must be 2,500 feet before the pilot could accept the LAHSO clearance. Note — All PTS and Knowledge Tests are currently being updated to include testing on LAHSO information. For more information, review the LAHSO Primer published by the FAA
